At the time I started photography, I was working as a speaker tutoring English as an alternate language. I had no background in photography – in fact, my Master’s degree was in anthropology – but I’d always had a dream to do commodity more cultural.

I Norway anticipated that one day I’d be a professional shooter, so in a sense the hedge I faced was my own – an internal block. I just didn’t suppose I could do it.
